18th U.S. National congress on computational mechanics
Chicago, Illinois
July 20-24, 2025
Welcome to the 18th U.S. National Congress on Computational Mechanics
We are delighted to welcome you to the 18th U.S. National Congress on Computational Mechanics (USNCCM18) next July 2025 in the vibrant midwestern city of Chicago. As many of you may know, the first USNCCM was held in Chicago way back in 1991 with a “whopping total” of 400 participants. We fully expect that USNCCM18 will continue the impressive growth of this conference, with many times the number of participants in 1991. You may also recall that in 2021 we had the first, and hopefully only, fully online U.S. National Congress on Computational Mechanics. In many ways the 2025 Congress will be a reprise of that meeting but fully in person.
Continuing on the impressive growth of the Congress in past years, we will have scores of parallel sessions on topics, including novel computational methods, advanced manufacturing, biosystems, and scientific machine learning. Additionally, we will have a number of sessions of special interest to students, early independent researchers, and other groups. Industry and federal agencies will also have a prominent presence at USNCCM18.
Chicago, of course, is a very dynamic city with much to offer on the cultural as well as the scientific front. It has a vibrant downtown, a stunning lake shore, the Magnificent Mile, tremendous examples of architecture, the Shedd Aquarium, and numerous museums devoted to natural history, the arts, and science and technology. Additionally, it has an outstanding dining and theater scene.
We hope to see you in Chicago for USNCCM18
